Boba is a Soft Structured Carrier (SSC) that is intended for babies and children between 7-45lbs. Boba offers several innovative features not seen on other carriers: The foot straps attached to the waist belt keep older children comfortable while enabling a healthy sitting position. The footstraps not only give tired little legs a rest, but support the legs in a flexed abducted (froglike) position which naturally tilts the pelvis, fills out the hip sockets and aligns the spine. The new infant conversion option allows you to use the Boba Carrier 3G with babies over 7lbs. The best part is that there is absolutely no insert or accessory needed! Good for newborns and nursing. With the carrier in the start position, spread the fabric wide to create a pouch. Holding baby securely with one hand, place her in the pocket with her head away from the shoulder pad. Be sure she is level or upright slightly. When you are sure baby is secure, move your hand to support her from the outside of the carrier. Adjust the sides for a comfortable, secure fit. Thread the tail of the sling like you would a belt, and wear over one shoulder-whichever shoulder you feel most comfortable with. I wear it over my left shoulder so that my right hand is free. If you are left handed you may be more comfortable with the sling over your right shoulder. Tighten the sling a bit. Pull the back panel of the sling up to make a pocket. Hold baby over one should with his feet tucked under him. Slip him into the pocket of the sling and pull the back panel up again. Begin tightening the tail of the sling. The rings should stay close to your shoulder with the pleated/ruffled part sitting on top of your shoulder. The sling should be tight across your back and should hold baby close to you. Pull the outer panel up around baby's back or completely over his head if you have a cuddly little baby. Adjust the outer edges/rails of tail of the sling to get it nice and tight. Adjusting the sling will be harder to do on newer slings. You can wash your sling and use fabric softener to allow the fabric to slide easier on the rings. It will also become easier the more you use it. You may need to re-thread the tail of the sling through the rings if they overlap too much and don't allow for adjustment. In the Newborn hold, your baby should be centered against your chest with his feet and legs curled under him like he was in the womb. It's a very comfortable position for newborns.
